Like Everyday

La série Like Everyday questionne la condition féminine en contournant les problèmes liés à une position féministe dans un pays où les artistes doivent composer avec la censure. En Iran, les femmes ne peuvent pas être photographiées sans leur voile. Shadi Ghadirian incite à réfléchir sur la question de la femme-objet. Exposée aléatoirement sur des panneaux publicitaires disséminés dans toute la ville, ces photographies permettent d’ouvrir un autre débat, celui de l’intrusion d’un tel vêtement religieux dans l’espace public occidental.
The series Like Everyday questions the female condition by circumventing the problems related to a feminist position in a country where artists have to deal with censorship. In Iran, women cannot be photographed without their veil. Shadi Ghadirian encourages to think about women being treated as objects. Randomly displayed on publicity boards disseminated around town, the series by Shadi Ghadirian brings up another debate, that of the intrusion of such a religious garment into the western public space.
