Grand prix international de photographie de Vevey
Par son premier prix de 40'000 CHF (env. 30'000 €) le concours veveysan reste l'un des mieux dotés en Europe en matière de photographie. Sa particularité est de financer la réalisation d'un projet plutôt que de récompenser un travail existant; en ce sens, il est une véritable bourse d'aide à la création.
Ouvert à tous les artistes, photographes professionnels ou en formation, ce concours international qui a lieu tous les deux ans (prochaine session en 2013) permet la réalisation d'un projet photographique inédit. Réalisé en une année, ce travail est ensuite présenté lors du Festival Images qui a lieu l'année suivante.
Tous les participants au Grand prix sont automatiquement présentés pour des mentions spéciales et peuvent aussi se voir proposer une exposition à l'espace Quai1.
Pour découvrir les projets lauréats du 8e Grand prix international de photographie de Vevey qui a eu lieu au printemps 2011, rendez-vous à Vevey en septembre 2012 pour la prochaine édition du Festival Images.
Grand prix européen des premiers films
Depuis 2000, le Festival Images remet tous les deux ans trois bourses d'aide à des jeunes cinéastes pour réaliser un premier projet cinématographique. Ces prix sont soutenus par la ville de Vevey, l'Etat de Vaud et la société SSR SRG.
Ouvert aux cinéastes diplômés des écoles européennes depuis trois ans ou moins et sur la base d'un dossier de présentation, les lauréats choisis reçoivent la somme de 10'000 EUR (env. 12'000 CHF) chacun pour lancer leur projet.
L'objectif de ce prix est de permettre à de jeunes réalisateurs d'avoir un soutien de départ pour le développement de leur projet et la mise en place d'une recherche de fonds efficace.
Les projets primés doivent être réalisés (en partie ou totalement) durant l'année pour être présentés lors du Festival Images l'année suivante.

Vevey International Photo Award
With a grant of CHF 40,000 (around € 30,000), this is one of the most important photography competitions in Europe. Its distinction is in its financing the realisation of a project, rather than rewarding an existing work, offering significant support for a creative process.
Open to all artists, and professional or student photographers, this international competition, which takes place every two years (next session in 2013), enables an innovative photography project to be created. The work, which is completed in a year, is then shown at the Festival Images the following year.
All the candidates are automatically put forward for special grants and may be offered an exhibition at the Quai1 gallery in Vevey.

European First Film Award
Since 2000, every two years, the Festival Images gives three grants to help young film directors develop their first cinematographic project. These prizes are supported by the city of Vevey, l'Etat de Vaud and the company SSR SRG.
The competition is open to film directors who have graduated from a European film school since three years or less, and is based on a presentation application; the chosen winners receive an amount of EUR 10,000 (around CHF 12,000) each, to start their project off.
The aim of this award is to provide young directors with the initial support to develop their project and to put in place an efficient fund-raising system.
The winning projects must be realised (in part or in full) during the year, in order to be shown at the Festival Images of the following year.
