Anne Golaz immersed herself in the heart of Finnish culture to explore the relationship its inhabitants have with the forest. In the series Metsästä (From the Woods), her use of artificial light contributes to the theatrical nature of the compositions and reinforces their mysterious and dramatic ambiance, while still highlighting the subject among the shadows. Her work looks at our desire for authenticity and a return to nature - a wild environment we often idealise.
Kehrer (Heidelberg) and the Festival Images co-publish a book entitled Metsästä
