The Black Maria is a mobile cinema built in 2010 by architect André Kuenzy. Its name refers to Edison’s cinematographic production studio built in Orange (New Jersey) in 1892, thought to have been the first in the U.S. The Black Maria was bought by the Festival Images and now serves as a projection theatre as part of the 2012 edition. The cinema provides comfortable seating in the 12 seats from former Swissair company planes. Spectators are taken on a cinematic journey without borders.
