Winner of the Nestlé - Festival Images Prize at the 8th Vevey International Photo Award, 2011-2012
Ruggaber’s new series addresses the phenomenon of water. Today, this vital resource gives rise to more and more socio-economic and geopolitical issues as it becomes increasingly valuable in the face of climate change. In this work, the artist explores the particular relationship between light and surface by following the watershed in the Highlands, in the North of Scotland. This landscape carved out with clear lochs and crisscrossed with rivers and streams formed an ideal laboratory for this work which invites the viewer to contemplation.
The Nestlé Festival Images Prize is a creative laboratory between Festival Images, Nestlé and an artist. It brings together the concepts of an event, economics and art.
