Leica prize (Reportage) at the 8th Vevey International Photo Award
Fernando Moleres has been a photographer for over 20 years, specialising in human rights. In his series Juveniles in prisons, he focuses on the children in prison in Sierra Leone. After a devastating civil war, many orphans are left to their own devices in the country’s streets. Many end up rotting in jail for many years, often without a trial. Through his classic and strong images, Moleres shows us the violence and promiscuity of these overcrowded prisons.
The documentary Juveniles in Prisons is screened in the Black Maria
