Liberté et Patrie was originally commissioned for Switzerland’s national exhibition in 2002, in the framework of an exhibition created by l’Arteplage mobile du Jura (AMJ). Presented as an adaptation of the novel “Aimé Pache peintre vaudois” by Ramuz, this film is both a reflection on representation and an autobiographical work. Wavering between fable and reality, this short film lasting about 20 minutes has not been screened often; Jean-Luc Godard agreed for it to be shown during the Festival Images, ten years after he created the movie.
