A custom-tailored photographic project and an immersive experience in the Montreux Jazz Festival universe
The Festival Images Vevey was invited to present two projects for the 50th anniversary edition of the Montreux Jazz Festival :
In honour of the founder of the Montreux Jazz Festival, French artist Cyril Hatt will photographically recreate the ambiance of Claude Nobs’ legendary chalets. With liberal use of snapshots, tape, and staples he will refabricate in 3D objects from Claude’s immense, whimsical collection. He will present them in a photographic structure that will be constructed for the occasion. Visitors will discover this exhibit at the entry to the Auditorium Stravinski, level B5.
At the main entrance, on level B4, a photo booth will invite festivalgoers to insert themselves into archive images of the Festival by means of a green screen. This voyage in space and time will permit guests to physically take part in the legend of Montreux.
Both of these projects will subsequently be presented in augmented versions at the Festival Images in Vevey from 10 September to 2 October, forging a solid link between these two events.
