Immersion

Lia Giraud was born in Paris in 1985 and is a graduate of ENSAD (National School of Decorative Arts). Born in 1983, Alexis de Raphelis studied interior design before entering the world of comics. Immersion is an installation that links three domains: cinema, photography and biology. A laboratory/ machine is placed near a projection screen; this Temporium – envisaged by Lia Giraud – is an autonomous device to produce living images formed of micro-algae that have an effect in real time on the scenes in the film by Alexis de Raphelis. Thus, the film modifies the algae and the algae in turn modifies the film’s pace.
