Panorama de la Foire de la Saint‐Martin, Vevey
Photographer and image collector, Edouard Curchod salvages and takes care of the archives of company or editorial office that have ceased operation. His collection reflects the tangible and intangible wealth of heritage in the Vevey region, where his own studio is located. With extraordinary precision, the Panorama de la Foire de la Saint-Martin results from an incredible process recreating a piece of photography conceived 110 years ago by an unknown photographer. It is the result of a true photographic puzzle that Edouard Curchod has reconstructed from glass plates, prints and buff-coloured postcards. For the first time Festival Images presents this panoramic view so as to be able to compare in a flash a reflection of the past and the present.
