Going Nowhere 2
Following the performative walks of other artist-surveyors, Simon Faithfull’s works have been described as a physical experience to try and understand the planet and explore its limits. The installation shows an individual from the back, walking under water at the bottom of the Adriatic Sea, dressed in a simple jeans and shirt. The silhouette, which slowly becomes distorted under the pressure of the water as it walks away evokes the burlesque of Buster Keaton’s silent films. This work transports visitors into a dreamlike world, fully immersed in the extremities of reality.
