A Bigger Reality Show
Shirana Shahbazi explores the limits of photography and the construction of reality. She painstakingly creates installations that blend colour with black and white, geometric forms with documentary subjects, and abstraction with figuration. Her compositions are usually presented indoors. For Images Vevey however, the artist is confronting public space on a much bigger scale with a made-to-measure monumental installation. She is covering the facade of a building with a pre-existing piece and has composed an original frieze of images that overlap onto its windows.
Inspired by combinations of images, this artist combines various photographic processes and printing techniques. With A Bigger Reality Show, Shirana Shahbazi has extended her practice and amplifies the urban space, immersing us in augmented reality.
