Erwin Wurm on the lineup of the next Festival Images
Austrian artist Erwin Wurm will be at the next Festival Images. On the programme: two exhibitions on the theme of this 2018 edition; Extravaganza.
Inspired by the artist’s childhood home, the Narrow House is undoubtedly surprising and fascinating. Festival visitors will have the opportunity to explore this atypical house, characterized by its narrowness. The corridors, the furniture and even the toilets, which seem to have been compressed, will push visitors to see a scene of daily life from a completely different angle.
“One Minute Sculptures”
A few weeks ago, the Villa “Le Lac” Le Corbusier welcomed photographer Jürgen Teller and artist Erwin Wurm to develop a series of images for a magazine. Strange poses and precarious balance, everything was put in place to elaborate the “One Minute Sculptures” that made the artist famous from the 90s.
During the Festival, Erwin Wurm will also invite festival-goers to perform “One Minute Sculptures”. These sculptures will take place at the Villa “Le Lac” Le Corbusier, in Corseaux. Replicas furniture of the Villa “The Lake” will be accompanied with instructions to explain to the visitor the pose – often absurd and funny – they sould take to create an astonishing sculpture.
Erwin Wurm’s works will be on view at the Festival Images Vevey from 8 to 30 September 2018.
The complete programme will be unveiled in August at www.images.ch
