Born in Israel in 1961, Nadav Kander spend his childhood in South Africa, before settling in London, where he lives and works today. His work is part of the National Portrait Gallery and he published in such newspapaers ad The Sunday Times Magazine, Rolling Stone or Dazed & Confused. Winner of numerous prizes, including the prestigious Prix Pictet (2009), his work was exhibited in the Palais de Tokyo, at the Shanghai Art Museum and at the Museum of Photographic Art of San Diego.

BODIES 6 Woman 1 Man

In this series, Nadav Kander latches on to a photographic genre which today is a little neglected: the nude. The morbid paleness of the bodies, their precise positioning and an absence of any eye contact, act as a barrier to any eroticism and challenges our perception of what makes a body beautiful. This work will be displayed as a world premiere at l’Espace Quai1, the permanent exhibition space of the Festival Images which features five yearly exhibitions of photographs having featured in Vevey International Photo Award.
