Wolfgang Stahr

Wolfgang Stahr is born in Würzburg, Bavaria. After his studies in visual communication in Photo and Film Design at the Fachhochschule Bielefeld, he moves to Berlin where he now lives and works. He participated to numerous collective exhibitions in Germany, Japan and France, for exemple Fuer immer jung – 50 jahre deutsche Jugendfotopreis  in 2011 in Berlin. He now collaborates with magazines and newspapers such as AD – Architechtural Digest, Annabelle, Cosmopolitain, die Zeit, Neon, der Spiegel ou Vogue.

Thank You, Come Again examines the societies after the fall of Communism in the cities of East Europe. Through urban lanscapes and interior architecture photographies, Wolfgang Stahr showcases the cultural effects of economic globalization. He also realises portraits of those people whose job requires a valorisation of the appearence. Their clothes, hairstyle and even their body positions become symbols of the roles social differenciation that takes place in the public area.
