From Somewhere to Nowhere
Andreas Seibert works on long-term projects, documenting the internal migration that has been disrupting China for many years, and its 150 million villagers who left their rural homes for the cities. The economic crisis of the late 2000s sent more than 20 million migrants back to the countryside after losing their jobs. Presented at Espace Images, his From Somewhere to Nowhere series focused on these workers, following them both in their new cities and on their often disenchanting return to the provinces.
