For this Images Vevey Biennial, the CEPV is presenting its group exhibition PARADE PARADE. Mentored by the Biel/Bienne artist Rudolf Steiner, students of the advanced photography course explored various facets of familiar objects in our day-to-day lives. Whether they have been bought, created, kept, or forgotten, such things abound and shape spaces. In the 19th century, the first photographers in history caught inanimate objects on camera, as if to tame them.
In turn, somewhat like the sorcerer’s apprentice in Fantasia, the twenty or so contributors to this project have animated and controlled objects through still lifes or by highlighting the material character of photography. Various texts complement this piece and give insight into our relationship with objects.
The installation PARADE PARADE is part of the parallel exhibitions of the Images Vevey Biennial.
