School Chalo
Charles Fréger took group portraits near and around ten schools in New Delhi, a fresh look at the surprising modes of transport Indian children use to go to school every day. True to himself, the photographer was very attentive to the background and his models’ postures. Pupils passed before his lens on board a rickshaw, on a motorcycle or a simple bicycle. Exhibited in the inner courtyard of a primary school, the School Chalo series showed younger viewers extraordinary ways to go to school in other parts of the world.
