Détournement poétique
Détournement poétique
Chema Madoz produces still lifes with a surprising assemblage of familiar objects, opening up a world between reality and fiction by transfiguring these everyday things into a reverie that often defies the laws of physics. Like mirages, his photographs can sometimes evoke the quirky world of Surrealists such as René Magritte or Man Ray. Presented in monumental format in Vevey, the Détournement poétique installation – with an image covering nearly 500 m2 – spectacularly translated the enigmatic character of the Spanish artist’s work.
