Composed solely of sequences taken from Hollywood film productions, this short film by David Oates and Mishka Henner (Belgium, 1976) explores the multiple roles embodied by a photographer in films such as Rear Window, Blow-Up and Harrisons’s Flowers. Whether voyeur, hunter, investigator or reporter, each profile is shown in scenes that play on the ambiguity of the characters. The outdoor installation of Photographers presented images from various movies interacting on split screens, sequenced in a loop, thus triggering a visual and narrative shock.
