Eric Lusito documents deserted military sites in various countries of the former communist bloc like a contemporary archeologist. Lost in the landscape, the fragile vestiges of the ideologies and power of the former USSR are crumbling with time as if meant to vanish from people’s memory forever. Eschewing nostalgia, his After the Wall. Traces of the Soviet Empire series includes a set of original objects – posters, films and printed material abandoned in the locations photographed – also displayed in the exhibition at Espace Images.
