Still Here
Gea Casolaro made the Still Here series while in residence in Paris. She enlarged photograms from movies shot in the French capital – Charade, Funny Face and Everybody Says I Love You – to then reintegrate them on the precise location of their original shooting. Presented outdoors as part of the collective exhibition Passé recomposé, her mise en abyme highlighted the historic ties between the City of Lights and the movie industry, while inviting viewers to reconsider the context of images that have become part of collective imagination.
