Les Mains & The Studio
Geta Brătescu is usually the main actress in her films in which she is seen searching, groping or tracing. In Les Mains and The Studio, two films made at the end of the 1970s, the Romanian artist reflected upon her environment and her work tools: the studio, table, paper, felt pen, cigarette and, most of all, her body. Part archive, part performance, the screenings at the Musée Jenisch Vevey showed a gestural aesthetic of daily life in a sheltered domestic space.
