CAR AM BAR

In 1986, automobile designer and collector Jay Ohrberg created the world’s longest limousine. A symbol of excess, the car named American Dream extends over 30 meters long and has 26 wheels, two engines, a jacuzzi, a bedroom with a king-size water bed, a swimming pool with a diving board, and even a heliport. For the Festival Images’ official bar, architect and artist Giona Bierens de Haan delivered a wood interpretation of the extravagant vehicle, fitted with comfortable seats. The CAR AM BAR welcomed festivalgoers on the Grande Place, one of Europe’s largest open squares and the town’s biggest parking lot.
