Homenaje

For over 50 years, Graciela Iturbide has been producing an intense body of work that documents the history and culture of her native country. In tribute to the great figure of Mexican photography, Festival Images conceived the installation Homenaje, inspired by her brief stay in Vevey in 2009 during which she photographed a plane tree on Quai Perdonnet, since chopped down. The photograph was displayed close to the tree’s original location, facing images from the famous Pajaros series printed on fabric hung fluttering in the wind on the branches of a cedar tree.
