100 Years

Hans-Peter Feldmann, is one of the fathers of re-appropriation in photography, yet came forth as a photographer for 100 Years, a series of 101 black and white portraits of his parents, friends and acquaintances. The over 50-meter-long installation retraced every step of human life with one portrait per year. The monumental display was specifically designed for the Salle del Castillo to allow visitors to embrace an entire life at a glance, confronting themselves to their own image and memories, the present moment and the future, and eventually to consider the vanity of one’s own existence.
