Back to the Future
While looking at acquaintances’ souvenir photos, Irina Werning wondered what the protagonists in these images would look like today, if they were staged to reproduce the exact same image taken in their youth. Nostalgic, sometimes funny and surprisingly accurate, the images of the Back to the Future series were displayed outdoors at the bend of a winding passage, like a doorway to space-time. For Festival Images, a Vevey resident accepted to play the photographer’s game and posed to reproduce a photo taken by the lake in the 1960s when she was a young student.
