Looking Into the Past
Looking Into the Past
For his Looking Into the Past project, Jason E. Powell superimposed past and present in the same image by placing photographs of important historical happenings back in their original location. His work includes, for example, a military gathering during the 1862 Civil War, the 1900 Paris International exhibition or the 2001 Twin Towers attack. Presented as part of the collective exhibition Passé Recomposé, his series confronts photographic memory with current reality.
