Best day of your life

At the very beginning of his career, while still working as a wedding photographer, Jean-Christian Bourcart carefully saved the frames his clients refused, unsold prints with technical defaults or that did not meet the newlyweds’ expectations. He gave these rejects a new status through diversion, exhibiting them publicly on a church square in Vevey. They seem to defy the archetypical images of fabricated happiness while mischievously reconsidering the so-called ‘best day of your life’.
