Re-enactors

For two years, Jim Naughten traveled to the South of England to attend First and Second World War re-enactments involving thousands of people. Inside a tent turned into a photography studio, he shot portraits of participants in their costumes, staring into space in front of a neutral background. Premiering in Switzerland at Espace Images, his Re-enactors series evokes fantasy and role-play as much as it questions our relationship to the past and to history.
