Kurt Caviezel needs no camera as he explores the world from a distance via his computer screen, capturing screenshots of webcam images freely accessible on the Internet. For the Animals series, he focused on outdoor cameras and waited for an animal to pass by to trigger the shot. Displayed outdoors in a Vevey park, the project explored the photographic potential of new information technologies now making it possible to dispense with traditional cameras, while questioning the ubiquity of video devices in the public sphere.
