Bâtiment
Leandro Erlich likes to divert urban elements to create an illusion and play with the perception of reality. For this monumental installation, he laid a full-size reproduction of the facade of a Haussmann-style building flat on the floor. Backed with a giant 96-m2 overhanging mirror, the Bâtiment installation led visitors to seemingly defy gravity without ever leaving the ground. It was also an occasion to experiment, via the image, with the sensations associated with urban climbing, as this building inside the building was displayed in the historical Salle del Castillo to draw attention to its eclectic architecture made visible after years of renovation.
