These twelve black and white short films with a DIY and rock’n’roll attitude show various characters performed by artist Martin Zimmermann. The most evil of all, Mr Skeleton, shows up in each episode to restore order in a world of rogues and tricks. The fruit of an unprecedented collaboration between Martin Zimmermann and Augustin Rebetez (Switzerland, 1986), these films were inspired by burlesque silent movie classics and deliver a scathing vision of society’s shortcomings. Presented for the first time at Festival Images, these videos transformed a basement into mysterious catacombs inhabited by extravagant creatures.
