Mr. Schuhlmann or the Man in the High Castle

Matthieu Lavanchy conceived the photographic fiction Mr. Schuhlmann or the Man in the High Castle about a character constantly on the look-out, whose state of emergency affects his life in each and every way, to the point where he protects himself from any danger by means of all kinds of eccentric devices, and gradually isolates himself physically and mentally in a fortress. Displayed outdoors, the series evolved through an installation of makeshift barricades, fueling reflection about the normalization of violence in the media and in the entertainment industry, and the ensuing security drifts.
