Too Much Metal for One Hand

In the post-Internet era, Maya Rochat explores the structure and corporality of images by tearing, spraying or recomposing the photographs that make up the basis of her work. Nourished by the saturated energy of metal music, her work undermines the usual interpretative codes of the medium and questions its ability to represent reality. Designed specifically for Espace Images, her Too Much Metal for One Hand installation blurred the boundaries between analog and digital and invited viewers to invent their own narrative in a world that blends photography, performance, still and animated images.
