Mike Stimpson recreates famous photographs with LEGO® bricks. He maliciously reinterprets the legendary pictures of Capa or Cartier-Bresson, as well as iconic images engraved in the collective memory, such as the one of the Chinese student blocking the road to a tank on Tiananmen Square in 1989, or the one figuring the capture of Iwo Jima in 1945. For Festival Images, his work was displayed in a giant book laid outdoors in the middle of a children’s playground, inviting young and old to have fun discovering the most important pages of the history of photography.
