Alien Camera

Pascal Dufaux set up his camera-objects in Villa “Le Lac” Le Corbusier, the mansion the architect built for his parents in 1923. The capture devices detected visitors’ movements, recorded them every 3 seconds, 30 seconds and 3 minutes, and then translated those images into video sequences. The multimedia installation Alien Camera evoked the ubiquity of surveillance cameras in the everyday by inviting visitors to become the subject of the exhibition and experience the architecture of the historic and iconic venue in a new light.
