Une Ville d’Images ou des Images dans la Rue
The year 1991 marked the beginning of a major economic crisis in Vevey, but also the emergence of an alternative scene in venues such as Le Toit du Monde, Les Temps Modernes and La Valsainte. Graphic designer Peter Scholl author of the logo “Vevey Town of Images”, bears witness to such artistic vitality. Since 1999, he has displayed the work of his preferred artists and photographers on advertising billboards at the bottom of the Grande Place. Not far from there, Festival Images displayed the layout of Une Ville d’Images ou des Images dans la Rue, a review of nearly ten years of ephemeral exhibitions in Vevey.
