Camera Restricta
Camera Restricta
For his Camera Restricta project, Philipp Schmitt created a camera prototype that geolocates via GPS and indicates the number of photographs taken from a given viewpoint. If this number is too high, near a tourist attraction for example, the device refuses to function, forcing the owner to find a more personal angle. The young designer’s invention highlights these overly photographed places and the sad banality of images produced in the digital age, while inciting viewers to be more original with their next shots.
