A Home with No Roof
A Home with No Roof is a series of photographs evoking the dysfunctional home in which Sara De Brito Faustino grew up. Using models and self-portraits, De Brito Faustino shapes the interior of her home, haunted by sometimes painful personal memories. In this project, winner of the Prix Images Vevey × ECAL 2023, familiarity and the strangeness of the ordinary rub shoulders. The artist has created an installation adapted to L’Appartement, in which each room extends the principle of his images into the space. Through an interplay of scales and textures, the immersive installation blurs the boundary between reality and its reproduction. A Home with No Roof reveals the artist’s vulnerability and her strength of emancipation through the plastic and playful potential of photography.
