Colline verdoyante, d’après Bill Gates
Colline verdoyante, d’après Bill Gates
In 2006, Sébastien Mettraux borrowed one of the most reproduced images in the world: Windows XP’s desktop wallpaper of a green hill against blue skies. Rumor has it that it was actually Bill Gates who took the snapshot while visiting a watch manufacturer in the Vallée de Joux. Since Mettraux’ family comes from that area, he tried to find the exact same location and viewpoint as the original photograph. Presented outdoors like a giant computer screen, Colline verdoyante, d’après Bill Gates both fed and questioned the myth.
