Comparable to the long walks of artists-wanderers such as Richard Long or Hamish Fulton, Simon Faithfull’s performances are genuine physical experiences that seek to understand the world and explore its limits. In the video Going Nowhere 2, a man in jeans and a white shirt walks on the bed of the Adriatic Sea before slowly drifting away into the impenetrable depths of the water. This soundless piece hints at the burlesque of Buster Keaton’s silent films while bringing visitors into a dream world, fully immersed on the edge of the possible.
