The Viewfinder series presented at the Swiss Camera Museum comprises images of landscapes from the Great Lakes region between Canada and the United States. Susan Dobson superimposed viewfinders of historical cameras from the renowned George Eastman House collection, thus revisiting the history of photography through the main technical element enabling the composition of the image. In the current digital era of the instantaneous, the exhibition recalled a time when shooting implied cumbersome material and long exposure times.
