Let’s Be Honest. The Weather Helped
Led by artist Walid Raad, The Atlas Group is a collective research project exploring the political, social, psychological and aesthetic dimension of wars in Lebanon. The Let’s Be Honest. The Weather Helped series maps out the impact of bullets and shells on the walls, cars and trees of Beirut, circling each hole according to a color chart for each type of weapon and its country of manufacture. Part infographics on the trafficking of weapons, part conceptual art, displayed randomly throughout Vevey like facades to be inventoried, the images blend the terrible and the beautiful, the true and the false.
