Post Natural History

Combining memory and anticipation, Vincent Fournier’s bestiary reinterpreted the notion of cabinets of curiosities by introducing new species from the future that had been modified synthetically and genetically to adapt to climate change. Espace Images exhibited “post-animals”, such as ibises with legs that resist extreme temperatures, dragonflies that measure pollution levels and beetles with GPS antennae that recall encyclopedic illustrations. Exploring how human beings relate to time and technology, the Post Natural History exhibition questions the place of humankind in the natural evolution of living organisms.

Space Project

Vincent Fournier revisited the myths and legends of the space race through a photographic adventure. Between documentary and fiction, the Space Project series focused on iconic sites of spatial exploration such as Star City in Russia, Cape Canaveral’s launch pad in Florida or the Mars Desert Research Station in Utah. In the natural setting of a park in Vevey, his staged scenes were disturbing to the eye and questioned our perception of reality.
