CEPV – Exposition et vernissage

CEPV

This exhibition explores the connections between photography and the performing arts, particularly theater, through the concept of theatricality. It examines how the performed image creates a tension between the reality captured by the camera and the imagined world. The works on display invite the audience to question notions of truth, fiction, and perception, while highlighting the relationships between identity, appearance, and sociocultural codes. The exhibition offers an immersive experience through a scenography that plays with light and space, oscillating between the “white cube” of contemporary art and the “black box” of theater, emphasizing the richness and complexity of staged photography.

In parallel, a publication titled “Hors-scène” presents 20 years of theatrical creation in French-speaking Switzerland. It brings together around 200 selected photographs, capturing two decades of collaborations between CEPV students and regional theatrical institutions.
