Images Gibellina 2021

Images Vevey has been collaborating with the association ‘On Image’ and key people in the Sicilian city since 2019 and, in 2021, organised a special edition of its Biennale in Gibellina.

Located south of Palermo, Gibellina is a real open-air museum with a unique artistic heritage. During the summer of 2021, Images Gibellina presented monumental open-air installations and bespoke art projects designed to echo the incredible architecture and inspiring setting of Gibellina Nuova.

The opening ceremony was presented by Stefano Stoll, Arianna Catania, Salvatore Sutera, Calogera Pumilia.

The series Self-portrait by Jun Ahn was presented at the Festival Images Vevey in 2018 and reinterpreted at Images Gibellina this edition 2021.

Also site-specific, at the bus stop in the street of Gibellina!

Edoardo Delille and Giulia Piermartiri also exhibited their work in an amazing architectural place in Gibellina.

Alberto Vieceli presented the series Holding the Camera, which is a great selfie point in Gibellina!

Renowned Swiss artists such as Olga Cafiero also exhibited at Images Gibellina.

Legendary street photographer Bruce Gilden exhibited on the wall of the famous unfinished teatro.
