In 2003, Aleksandra Mir embarked on ‘Plane Landing’, a long-term project involving a monumental inflatable aeroplane: a twenty-metre-high sculpture filled with helium that she ‘lands’ at iconic locations around the world.
For the Biennale Images Vevey 2024, the artist is developing a new site-specific installation comprising 192 collages, created from images and fragments collected in Vevey and on the shores of Lake Geneva.
This book brings together these works, continuing the dialogue between air and paper, monument and fragment.
