Il Muro del Suono
For his Il Muro del Suono project, Andrea Galvani printed enlargements of a set of images taken while traveling in Italy a year earlier and placed them back in their initial context. The superimposition of the photographic clone on its real landscape compresses the time between production and reproduction in an impossible simultaneity. The title of this piece refers to the supersonic shock felt when a plane breaks the sound barrier, and made it an apt component of the time capsules series presented outdoors in Vevey as part of the Passé recomposé exhibition.
