IMPOSE (International Mouvement pour la Possibilité d’un Ordre Symbolique Élaboré)
Fan of autobiographical fiction and an unsuccessful candidate in the 2016 election of the Municipality of the town of Vevey, Darren Roshier reappropriated the visual, verbal and behavioral codes of an electoral campaign to question the societal role of art as the only forum where everything can be freely called into question. With his IMPOSE party (International Movement for the Possibility of an Elaborate Symbolic Order) created for the occasion, the artist-performer blurred the boundaries between reality and fiction as he took on the postures of politicians in a series of posters disseminated randomly in the public space.
